A musical impression in three uninterrupted parts of the Spanish city Bilbao. The Spanish opening describes the glorious and proud past of this city. The middle part illustrates a period of decline and indecision with solo-passages for English horn and bassoon. The third and last part describes the comeback of Bilbao: a slightly swinging section indicates the opening of the Guggenheim-museum for modern art.
