Premiered by Matsubushi H.S. Band under the direction of Masato Sato at the 2011 Japan Academic Society of Wind Music (JAS-Wind) 3rd Annual Composition Competition, this march won the composition prize.This is a very bright, quick circus march. The title concept depicts the mischievous inner child all adults possess, their “second childhood”. Just imagine a mass of over-aged delinquents marching, or storming towards you. The main melody and counter-melody are passed around the entire ensemble throughout the piece. Although there are a variety of articulations and leaps in each phrase, the composer has considered tessitura. Many percussion accessories are uniquely used to emphasize the childish character. This composition not only reflects the innocence and energy of kids but the yearning child deep within most adults.
