Odessa, the third largest city in the Ukraine, is a major seaport and transportation hub located on the northwestern shore of the Black Sea. Always busy with activity, the energy of this important city is captured musically from the very first measure with an active eighth note figure in the low strings. This driving figure can be heard several times throughout the piece with melodic material built over it. Like the port, the music is relentless in its level of energy and does not slow from start to finish. Here is a wonderfully programmable piece that players will love to perform and audiences will totally enjoy!
